MINNEAPOLIS & ST PAUL SUMMER CAMPS

Bakken Museum Camp Innovation

3537 Zenith Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55416
A one week program to design and build personal inventions. Day sessions run 9am-4pm. There are also 3- and 4-day options for this camp. June 12-Sept 1, 2023. Grades 4-9, $270-$438.

The Bakken’s Young Makers Day Camp runs from 9am-12pm and is a good option for kids in grades 2-3. July 10-August 25, 2023. $230.

The BAKKEN MUSEUM makes for an “electrifying” family outing any time of the year. The fun need not be limited to summer camp! You can learn lots more about visiting the museum in our tips for experiencing the Bakken Museum.

Bell Museum Youth Summer Camps

2088 Larpenteur Ave W, St Paul, MN 55113
Camps include hands-on activities, planetarium visits, games, creative projects, field trips around the University. Registration opens Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Sessions run June 19-September 1, 2023. Grades 1-6. $395/week.

Kids University

University of Minnesota Youth Programs, 123 Harvard Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455
Kids explore subjects like agriculture, ecology, language, math & science. 2023 week-long sessions in June, July & August. $399-$449 per session.

Minnesota Children’s Museum

10 West Seventh Street, St. Paul, MN 55102
Offered by The Works at MCM, campers explore science and engineering with hands-on activities. Ages 6-8. Sessions run June 26- August 24, 2023. $225 per week.

iDTech Summer Camp

Macalaster College, 1600 Grand Ave, St Paul, MN 55105
Coding, game development, robotics, and design for kids  and teens. One-week sessions run June 19-July 28, 2023. Ages 7-17. From $949/week.

Leonardo’s Basement Summer Workshops

New location in Prospect Park  Neighborhood, Minneapolis TBA
Full and half-day workshops meet for 5 days (M-F). Weekly from June-August. Ages 6-17. $220/week+. Income-based discounts applied ($50-$125 for qualifying households). Camps beginning June 12, 2023. 

Science Museum of Minnesota

Camps for ages PreK through 16. Topics include art, biology, carpentry, chemistry, coding, engineering, magic, media, paleontology, space, and more. Virtual camps available. June 12-Sept 1, 2023. Ages 6-16. $80-$399.

Snapology STEAM Summer Camps 

2649 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis MN 55408
Snapology’s weekly half and full day camps provide a perfect mixture of learning and fun. We incorporate the education, social skills and STEAM concepts into the creating, inventing, games and fun. This summer we’ll be building and coding robots, engineering fun creations, working with science concepts and layering in themes that kids love like Minecraft, Star Wars and Superheroes. Camps run weekly from 9am-4pm for kids ages 5-13. Sessions run June 12 – September 1, 2023. Half day camp (3 hrs per day/15 hrs per week) – $175 or full day camp (7 hours per day, 35 hours per week) – $350.

The Works Museum

10 West Seventh Street, St. Paul, MN 55102
One to three-day, campers explore science and engineering with hands-on activities. See also Works Camps at Minnesota Children’s Museum. Ages 6-12. Sessions run June 12-August 31, 2023. $225 per week; $110/one-day camps.

High Tech Kids LEGO Robotics Coding Camp

3370 Coachman Road, Suite D, Eagan 
Camp participants will be challenged with Coding/Programming LEGO SPIKE Prime robots to accomplish missions/tasks on a past FIRST LEGO League field. They will be encouraged to design and modify the provided basic robot to aid in completing these challenges. No previous coding experience is necessary. LEGO SPIKE Prime robots will be utilized to learn basic programming skills, including the use of sensors. High Tech Kids will provide each participant a SPIKE Prime robot and a Chromebook to use during the week (sorry, they don’t get to keep the robot or Chromebook!). 
For students entering grades 4 and 5; July 10 – 13, PM camp | OR July 31 – Aug 3, AM camp | Aug 7 – 10, Full Day; $150 Half Day, $220/Full Day 

TWIN CITIES SUMMER CAMPS – WEST METRO

Pavek Museum of Broadcasting

The museum presents two special summer camps for 2023: Podcast Camp (June 21-23) and Secret Agent Camp (date TBD). Ages 9-14. $180-$250/camper.

SCIENCE & TEC SUMMER CAMPS – MULTIPLE TWIN CITIES METRO-AREA LOCATIONS

Camp Invention

20 metro locations
This camp program from The National Inventors Halls of Fame offers kids challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Sessions run June 19 – Sept 1, 2023. Grades K-6. $260+ per week.

Code Galaxy Summer Camp

Virtual camps designed for kids to develop programming and coding skills in Scratch, Minecraft, Python and more. Times and dates are flexible. 2023 camp packages start at $70-$269/month, full summer sessions cost $750+. These camps are for ages 7-15.

New Horizons Camp Discovery

New Horizons Academy, Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Rochester
Day camps offered in a variety of subjects. Prices vary by location and program. Ages 5-10, June through August 2023. Contact the school for more details.

Nitro-X Camps — Build, Test, Drive

Anoka Technical College
NORTHEAST METRO 916 CAREER & TECH CENTER
Kids in middle school learn to work on and build remote controlled cars, finishing the week with a race. 8:30am-3pm w/ lunch included. 2023 camp sessions run June 12-15 (Anoka – $165) & August 7-11 (White Bear – $250).

Camps meet Monday-Friday. Full-day STEM Camps for  ages 6-16. Half-day specialty camps for ages 10+. $199-$319.
