Songs with Sarah Summer Music Camps

Songs with Sarah is an audition based music school in South Minneapolis. In addition to our regular lessons and classes, we are excited to offer our 2022 summer programming, designed to keep your child immersed in music and creative play all summer long! All camps and courses will include movement, singing, instrument play and outdoor activities. For more in depth descriptions, please see our website!

Summer courses range from $120-160. Summer camps for ages 5-11 start at $195.  Half-day camps also available.

Piano Institute
July 25-30, 2022 | 8 am – 4 pm |$400
Piano Institute provides a concentrated week of stimulating musical activities within a Christian environment which will motivate and encourage students in their piano studies and in life.
The Institute is open to serious piano students ages 10-18 at an intermediate to advanced level (Level 5 method book and above). Students will be grouped according to age and ability.

Brio Children’s Music Camp
July 18-22, 2022 | 9:30 am – 12 pm | $120
Join children (ages 4–8) for a week of Music and Movement including listening to a variety of music, learning about rhythm, tempo and the musical alphabet. Students will be exploring the connection between music and movement, storytelling, concert listening, singing, and much more.

Brio Music Camp is offered through the Academy of Music in partnership with Fusion Arts – fusionartsmn.org. Brio means brilliance, vitality, with energy.

Walker | West Camps and Music Intensives

Grow Through Music Camp (grades K-6) offers a fun introduction to a variety of instruments for beginners and a chance to reconnect with friends and instructors for returning students. Our Summer Jazz Intensive (grades 6-12) and Summer Jazz Violin Workshop (grade 5-12) offer intermediate and advanced students a chance to mix things up and hone their improvisation skills. July 11 – August 12th. $345-$540. Tuition Assistance available for all camps.

Athena Music & Leadership Camp

Athena Music & Leadership Camp is open to students ages 11-18.  Camp runs for 5 days at Bethel University offering both sleeping away camp and day camp options.  $750 for Residential Camp, $550 for Day Camp.

Minnesota Boychoir Bootcamp 

Boychoir Bootcamp is open to boys ages 6-12. Camp runs from 8:00am to 4:30pm followed by a short performance for family and friends. July 30 or Aug 22, 2022. $35.

Camp Pillsbury 

315 S Grove Ave, Owatonna, MN 55060
Summer sleep-away and day camps in a variety of subjects. Sessions run June 12-August 28, 2022. Ages 6-17. Up to 10 weeks. $500-$3750.

Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies  

GTCYS offers summer orchestral experiences for string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students of all abilities. July 18-22, 2022. Ages 8-18. $320.

Perpich Arts High School Summer Camp

6125 Olson Memorial Hwy, Golden Valley, MN 55422
A 5 Day Camp is held for grades 6-10.  There are two weeks to choose from: the week of June 20 or July 1.  $25/half day camp, $50 for full day camp.

School of Rock Summer Camp

244 Cleveland Ave South, St Paul, MN 55105
No experience needed. Students will explore their instruments through musical games and activities. Instruments and skills include guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals. Sessions run June 13-Sept 2, 2022. $199 & up.

Kindermusik Summer Classes 

1351 Park Rd, Chanhassen, MN 55317
Classes are for children newborn – 5 years with an adult. Sing and play all the way through the summer. Session ONE: June 6th-June 30th. Session TWO: July 11th-August 4th, 2022. $85.

MacPhail Center for Music 

Summer camps for absolute beginners to advanced players in early childhood music, chamber music, piano, voice, composition, jazz and rock. In person half and full day and online camps available. Summer sessions run June 13-Aug 19, 2022. $168-$510.

Minnesota Youth Symphonies

Offers a summer string chamber orchestra camp. June 20-24, 2022. Location TBA. Grades 4 & up. $350.

Saint Paul Conservatory of Music

A music day camp for aspiring young musicians. Summer session July 11-22, 2022. Grades 1-6. $575.

Show Choir Camp
July 11-15, 2022 | 10 am – 4 pm | $195

Calling all 9–16 year olds that love to sing, dance, and act to join the Show Choir Camp! This camp will consist of musical rehearsals, private voice lessons, private dance lessons and master classes combined to prepare for a final exciting show choir performance.

Violin Group Camp
June 20 – 24, 2022 | 9 am-11am | $120

Violin Group Camp is for violinists ages 6-13 who enjoy learning new skills, developing techniques and performing with others. Students will engage in games and activities emphasizing aural skills, note reading, rhythmic dictation, ensemble playing and leadership within a fun, judgment-free learning environment. Group pieces will be learned and rehearsed together during the week in preparation for the final performance on Friday. Violinists are encouraged to bring prepared solo pieces to perform for their peers, though solo performances are not required.

Enrolled in private lessons either through the Academy or elsewhere
Suzuki Book 1 – 3 level or equivalent repertoire

June 20 – 24, 2022
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
