Tucked away between residences and Bass Creek, Cavelle Park* is a small neighborhood park in Brooklyn Park with a playground and green space. The park is just shy of 10 acres and includes a short pathway (.05 miles) and natural areas that include the creek, which runs through it. As part of the Shingle Creek Ecological Corridor, this park is included in Brooklyn Park’s Natural Resources Management Plan to be proactively managed for natural resources. A 30-Year Plan includes enhancement of lowland hardwoods through increasing ground cover with native plants, which provides direct benefits to wetland and stream water quality. Notes When Using GPS: This Park is spelled Cavelle (with an e), but in the past, it was spelled Cavell (without an e) on the Brooklyn Park Website. They seem to have fixed this inconsistency. The street the park is on is spelled without the e. There is also a separate Cavell Playground in NE Minneapolis near the border of Columbia Heights. It is not the same park.3 Ideas for Family Fun at Cavelle Park
