Beltrami Park is a nicely shaded neighborhood park with a variety of amenities including imaginative, train-themed playground. Other family-friendly amenities include a wading pool, walking paths, a picnic area with grill, restrooms and a drinking fountain, as well as sports courts and fields. The wading pool, which is a standard older pool, opens Memorial Day weekend and closes on Labor Day. The pool is free to use between the hours 10 am to 9 pm daily. There are no lifeguards on duty. Beltrami participates in the summer meals program, offering free dinners to children under 18 years old between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, mid-June through mid-August. Please call ahead to confirm. The MPRB recently hosted a grand opening for the park’s timber frame picnic pavilion. This 26-foot-tall timber frame pavilion has a capacity for 16-20 people at picnic tables. Historically significant, timber framing has been used for thousands of years using carefully fitted timbers with complex joints secured by large wooden pegs instead of nails or other mechanical fasteners.
