Arden Park in Edina covers eighteen acres along the Minnehaha Creek in near 50th and France neighborhood. Family-friendly amenities include a new playground, space for picnics and paved paths that accommodate pedestrians, bikes, inline skates and strollers. In the summer there are sports fields and courts. In the winter, there are outdoor ice rinks and a warming house. The city maintains a full sized hockey rink and a leisure skating rink complete with a warming house at this park. While it was closed for restoration during the 2018/2019 season, it reopened in 2020. Find this and other outdoor rinks in the Twin Cities here. In September of 2018, the City of Edina completed the design stage of plans for improved park access and restoration of the Arden Park section of Minnehaha Creek. These plans will include new trails/boardwalks and increased recreational opportunities with a focus on maintaining the natural, rustic character of the park. The park reopened in 2020. New amenities included a new ice rink and open skate areas and a 1,500-square-foot shelter building, which serves as a warming house in the winter.
