Summer to Remember Adventure #5: Rain

kid in rain coat

Rain on a summer day make it a beautiful summer day. We can take advantage of fun at home.  Or we can get a little soggy and make amazing memories.

For the Summer to Remember Adventure No. 5, the prompt is

“Rain”

You can use this adventure prompt around town, through creative play, or in a book.  Even if it doesn’t rain this week (but hopefully it does!), we can benefit from the rain at the Farmer’s Markets or in our garden.

Adventures Around Town

Visit a Public Garden

Check a local Sculpture Garden

Explore a Farmer’s Market

Adventures Through Creative Play

Plant a garden with your kids.  It’s not to late!

Take advantage of the rain to get started (or keep going with) the Twin Cities Summer Reading Programs

Hopefully, we will have a rainy day this week and you can take advantage of our Rainy Day Guide.

Adventures In a Book

Read a Bel the Weather Girl book by local children’s author and meterologist Belinda Jensen.

There are six to choose from.  If you want one that is specifically about rain, read A Party for Clouds: Thunderstoms or Weather Clues in the Sky: Clouds.
