Located about an hour north of the Twin Cities metro, the Wildlife Science Center was founded in 1976 to observe and document the physiology and behavior of a captive population of gray wolves. It has since become internationally recognized as a leading expert regarding wolf behavior. For visitors, the Center provides exposure to wild animals while sharing the knowledge they have gathered from their conservation efforts and their long-term, humane scientific studies on captive populations.
Saturday public tours & events at the Wildlife Science Center
Come listen to the wolves howl! The center offers one-hour tours every Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tours run regardless of the weather. No reservation is required. Tours cost $10 for adults, $8 for children 4-12, and are free for kids 3 and under.
Special events are often put on by the Wildlife Science Center including fall harvest, Halloween, and holiday events. These are not only fun and educational, but admission helps to support care for the resident animals you’ll meet.
Birthday parties at Wildlife Science Center
Although, maybe a bit far away for most of us, WSC offers Howling Good Birthday Parties centering around a fun and educational wildlife program. They also have a room available and a bonfire upon request. You provide your own refreshments and paper goods. Contact WSC for more information.
