Located in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, Tower Hill Park is the location of the picturesque Witch’s Hat Water Tower (officially Prospect Park Water Tower) which was designed by Norwegian architect, Frederick W. Cappelen. The tower is on the National Register of Historic Places and is typically only open one day a year, during the Pratt Ice Cream Social, held across the street at the Pratt Community School – usually the Friday evening after Memorial Day. (Find up-to-date information about the tower here).

  1. This is really specific but I had an old blue sweatshirt that had the print pictured above of the architectural blue print on it. I’m searching all over the internet to see if I can find one again! Please reach out if you have any clues 🙂

    1. That sounds really cool, Sarah. It sounds like something a neighborhood association may have made. Maybe one of our readers will have suggestions.

    1. I’m sorry you misunderstood Kari. This was just a fun fall hike with a witchy theme. The tower is only opened once a year during the Pratt Ice Cream Social — but its a beautiful hike in the fall.
