Website Terrace Oaks Park

Terrace Oaks Park is treated as two parks – East and West – by the City of Burnsville. However, for the purposes of a visitor, they are the same large park. Terrace Oaks West is a large community park; while Terrace Oaks East is a 4-acre neighborhood park in the northeast corner of the property. The combined parks feature playgrounds, trails, sports courts and fields and picnic areas. There are also biking trails in the summer and cross-country ski trails in the winter. Weather permitting, the mountain bike trails are open April 1 through Oct. 31.

Nature Play at Terrace Oaks Park

New for the Summer of 2018 is Burnsville’s first official nature play area. Kids are encouraged to climb, jump, build and explore. The area will include painted animal tracks, tree cookies, climbing logs and rocks, log trails, building sticks and limestone block benches. The nature play area is open when the park is open (5 am – 10 pm).

Winter at Terrace Oaks Park

During December through February, this is one of two parks in Burnsville that maintains cross-country ski trails. The park has three groomed ski trails that are considered advanced because they wind through heavily wooded and hilly areas. These trails are not open to skijorers. However, walkers, snowshoers, skijorers and leashed dogs are welcome to use the ungroomed trail.

The park has a weekend chalet that is open when weather permits from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Birthday parties at Terrace Oaks Park

Located in the west park, a picnic shelter with attached indoor space can be rented for birthday parties and other private events. It can accommodate up to 100 people with indoor seating for up to 30 and outdoor seating for another 45. Call the park for more information or to reserve a space.
