Simley Island Park is a 3-acre park wedged between two of Inver Grove Heights’ busiest thoroughfares. The island, a few feet off the shore of Simley Lake, is reached via a small bridge.
Things to do at Simley Island Park
Pick up a lunch at the shopping center across the street and enjoy it at the small picnic shelter on the island. The space is planted with pollinator-friendly wildflowers. This park participates in the city’s fishing tackle loaner program; if you’re in need of fishing gear, call the park directly. There is a pier on the island where you might be able to catch sunfish, crappies, perch, large and smallmouth bass, northern pike and more.
Plan your visit to Simley Island Park
There is no dedicated parking lot at this park. Instead, there are spaces across the street at the Simley Lake Shopping Center. You will need to cross a busy street without a crosswalk to access the one trail onto the island. There is no playground or restroom facilities at this park.
