Birthday Parties at Moore Lake Community Building
As part of the 2023 updates to Moore Lake Park, the City of Fridley built a new, modern community building. This beautiful pavilion offers lake views, an audio-visual system, a kitchenette and capacity of up to 72 people seated or 100 people open house style. Reservations opened in the spring of 2023 with options for half-day or full-day rentals.
Updates to Moore Lake Park
The City of Fridley completed updates to this park in 2024. Improvements included:
- A new playground. The previous playground (in our photos) was not too shabby. The updated playground meets a broader range of ages and abilities.
- More space to picnic
- Watercraft rentals and storage plus lakeside seating and viewing area
- A new park pavilion available to rent for private events, like birthday parties, much-needed restrooms and possibly vending machines.
- Updated basketball court
- Flexible open lawn spaces and a possible nature playground!
- Improved trail connections and internal loops
- Beautification with updated landscaping and public art
- Better parking
- Naturalized spaces that can double as stormwater storage
Moore Lake Beach – Closed
Moore Lake Beach was nice when it was open, but it was closed in 2018. Apparently, a 2016 survey of Fridley residents came to the conclusion that slightly more than half of the residents found it too gross to swim in. The coming updates will be addressing water quality, but I don’t see plans to re-open the beach on the agenda.
