Maetzold Field in Hopkins was completely upgraded in 2013. Although mainly a sports park, this 10-acre park does have a large playground with shade umbrellas. A good-sized parking lot offers off-street parking. There is also space to picnic with tables and a drinking fountain. Note, however, that the restrooms are only open during scheduled games.
3 Ideas for Family Fun at Maetzold Field
- Bring a Playground Ball. Play kickball on the baseball fields and/or dodgeball on the soccer field
- Pack a Picnic. Enjoy lunch outdoors while the kids play. Grab a table or spread a blanket on the lawn.
- Play. Get active together on the playground.
- Explore Hopkins. Make it a day of Hopkins Family Fun.
Maetzold Field Playground
The playground, like the rest of the park, was most-recently renovated in 2013. It is geared toward older kids with a lot of climbing structures. The floor is wood chip. See the featured image.
