Website Currie Park
Currie Park is a small park in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood, just east of downtown Minneapolis and sitting almost in the shadow of US Bank Stadium. It is conveniently close to light rail transit and the Hiawatha Trail, making it an easy park to visit from and a nice starting or stopping point when visiting Downtown Minneapolis. Recent updates to this park included a new playground and splash pad, along with a new restroom building near the splash pad. The basketball court was also updated. Other family friendly amenities include space to picnic with a grill, sports courts and fields, restroom facilities and a drinking fountain and a walking path.
The playground, which was updated in 2020, is busy on summer evenings. The colorful jungle gym bustles with bigger kids while the tot area offers a fun car structure and talking tubes for passing secret messages. The sandy playground floor is perfect for digging with digger tool or with hands and there are swings available for all levels – tots through big kids.
Currie Park splash pad
The older style pool was removed and replaced with a splash-pad in 2021. Construction included a new restroom building that is open seasonally during swim season. Both the splash pad and restrooms are open 10am to 9pm daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.

Public Art at Currie Park
In 2022, MPRB unveiled a new mosaic mural created by artist Craig David, Tableau Congeries. The mural highlights stories gathered from conversations with neighbors and community members and incorporates Mayan, Somali, Oromo, Czech, Scandinavia, Hmong, Korean, Dakota, and Ojibwe stories. The mosaic includes poetry by Deeq Abdi and a central image of a sycamore tree symbolizing tranquility.
Coyle Community Center
The park building is operated by Pillsbury United Communities who runs community programs from this location.
