Cherokee Regional Park is a large park in Saint Paul and one of its most pristine bluff land parks. The park ranges across 100 acres of Mississippi riverside. Family friendly amenities include playgrounds, sports courts, and space for picnics with fire pits and grills. The Cherokee Regional Trail runs through the park providing views of mature trees and wildlife, connections to the river and access to adjoining trails.
Cherokee Park playground
The playground was replaced in 2018 and the new play area opened in spring of 2019. The new playground consists of an adorable little crooked house climbing structure for younger kids and a 24-foot-tall “sky tower” climbing structure with netting and tornado slide for the bigger kids. It’s impressive!
Birthday parties at Cherokee Regional Park
The park has two shelters available for rent for birthday parties and other private events between early May and early October. Saint Paul usually opens up park shelter rentals around January and has a lottery for the more popular locations.
