Centennial Park is a large park in Brooklyn Center with a variety of family-friendly amenities, including a softball field, soccer fields, a playground, a picnic shelter, and a paved pathway that connects to Palmer Lake Nature Area. The park is also home to the Shingle Creek Trail, which is part of the North Hennepin Regional Trail Corridor and is located near enough the the library to walk. The park often hosts community events like the annual Juneteenth celebration, Brooklyn Center’s Halloween Party, outdoor movies and concerts.
