For a budget-friendly option, consider the Pay What You Can Performance on Monday, September 21. Pay-What-You-Can tickets start at $10/pp online (but is truly pay-what-you-can at the door).
Find information on parking here. We found the 19th Avenue Ramp to be a really good deal – $4.00 for the whole evening in downtown Minneapolis.
Dinner and a Show? We like nearby Acadia Café for burgers before an evening show or after the matinee (Acadia opens at 5pm on weekends).
Theatre in the Round
One thing we love about this theatre, which isn’t always the case with an arena stage set up, is the great sound quality. The entire theatre is built to project voices, the sound system is top of the line and everything was perfectly mixed. The theatre is properly treated for the sound, and they have a good placement of speakers. I had no problem hearing the dialogue. Even when the actors were offstage or in one of the secondary stage areas in a certain direction, we knew exactly where to look based on the direction of the sound.
Bringing it Home
We know that as our kids get older, we don’t have to work as hard to build on their theatre experiences, and it can just be fun night out. But if your family enjoys the extra, we have a few ideas for adding to this experience at home.
