Nature education made fun for all ages! Free snacks included, thanks to Minnesota Valley Refuge Friends. Drop in at your leisure during posted hours, and make sure to hang around to wander through both the indoor exhibits and outdoor nature trails of the refuge. Cost is free.
Winter 2026 Nature Discovery Days
All events are drop-in, family-friendly and include free snacks and hot cocoa!
- February 8 | Hearts In Nature – Valentine’s Day animal-themed craft and self-guided walk to look for heart shapes in nature.
- March 15 | All Things Green – Scavenge outside, craft inside and learn all about why plants are green.
- March 29 | Taking Root – Observe how a seed grows into a plant, then take home your own seeds to raise.
