Description
Historic Glensheen is a Duluth mining baron’s dream home with an unbeatable view of Lake Superior. It’s also got a sinister past (for those who like a good ghost story), though the very family-friendly tour shies far away from this. Instead, it focuses on the splendor of the Congdon family Christmases and their customs. To get kids engaged, we recommend taking the self-guided Christmas tour and making the visit into a giant game of I-Spy: how many Christmas trees can they count? How many hidden elves? Don’t miss the traditional shortbread cookies in the kitchen and, if weather permits, take a winter walk down at the edge of the lake. The grounds are usually decorated and ablaze with holiday lights. Daily tours start November 14-December 23 – see our schedule for times. $8-$20 with kids 5 & under FREE.
2025 Glensheen Christmas self-guided tours
Classic Christmas Mansion Tour
A look at the lower three floors all decked out for the holidays. Grounds admission included. This tour takes about an hour to complete. Daily tours start November 14-December 23, 10am-4pm. $20/adults, $8/youth ages 6-17, FREE under 5.
Full Mansion Christmas Tour
A tour that includes all five decorated levels of Glensheen Mansion, including the third floor and attic. Grounds admission is also included. This tour takes about 1.5 hours to complete. Daily tours start November 14-December 23, 10am-4pm. $32/adults, $20/youth 6-17, FREE under 5.
Candlelight Christmas Tours
Pick from either the Classic Tour or Full Mansion Tour and explore by cozy candlelight and the glow from the many decorated Christmas trees sprinkled throughout. Classic tour runs 5-8pm and costs $25/adults, $13/youth 6-17, FREE under 5. Full tour runs 5-7:30pm and costs $35/adults, $20 youth.

Glensheen Grounds Admission
Enjoy the decorated grounds of the mansion and learn the history through outdoor signage and, if you choose, the free Glensheen app. $5/adults, youth are FREE.
