Family-friendly events at Bloomington’s annual Winter Fete include a winter lights tour, NYE skate, the Winter Fete Medallion Hunt beginning January 13th, snowshoeing, ice fishing and Sledstravaganza – see our full scheduled of winter activities at the link.
2025 Bloomington Winter Fete family events
- Starts December 1 | Bloomington Winter Lights Tour
- December 6 | Global Fat Bike Day – Minnesota River Bottoms Lyndale Avenue Lot, loaner bikes available. 10am-1pm, FREE.
- December 22 | Try Outdoor Ice Skating – Sunrise Park. 5:30-7:30pm, FREE, skate rental available.
- December 31 | NYE Skate – Bloomington Ice Garden. 4-7pm, $8/pp, skate rental included.
- January – February | Freeze Your Pants – Tarnhill Park
- January 5 | Try Outdoor Ice Skating – Poplar Bridge Park. 5:30-7:30pm, FREE, skate rental available.
- January 13 | Winter Fete Medallion Hunt begins – first clue announced, 10 in all or until medallion is found. Check official festival page for clue announcements.
- January 19 | Sledstravaganza & Ice Skating – Brookside Park. 3:30-5:30pm, FREE.
- January 25 | Introduction to Ice Fishing – Bush Lake Beach. 2 sessions, 10am-3pm. $12.50/pp, register ahead.
- January 31 | Blades & Bites – Bryant Park. 10am-2pm, FREE skating. Food trucks onsite.
- February 2 | Try Outdoor Ice Skating – Westwood Park. 5:30-7:30pm, FREE, skate rental available.
- February 7 | Winter History Festival – Pond Dakota Mission Park. Games, snowshoeing and storytelling by the fire. FREE.
- February 8Â | Introduction to Ice Fishing – Bush Lake Beach. 2 sessions, 10am-3pm. $12.50/pp, register ahead.
- February 9 | Try Outdoor Ice Skating – Bryant Park. 5:30-7:30pm, FREE, skate rental available.
- February 22Â | Introduction to Ice Fishing – Bush Lake Beach. 2 sessions, 10am-3pm. $12.50/pp, register ahead.
- February 21Â | Winter Play Day – Hyland Lake Park Reserve. Free outdoor winter activities. 11am-3pm.
