Description

Naturalist-led programs are often offered at parks and natural areas around Bloomington. These typically take place on select Saturdays & Sundays each month, are interactive, fun and geared for all ages. Unless noted, these programs do not require advance registration and are free. According to the city’s website, some topics you may look forward to include prairies and pollinators, various habitats and animal species, apple cidering, nature photography, birding, bugs, maple sugaring, monarchs and more.

• January: Nature Craft – Pinecone Bird Feeders: Drop in to make a bird feeder to take home, learn common bird calls and do a little birdwatching. More: Birding With Kids in the Twin Cities and What to Pack for Birdwatching.
• February: An Owling We Will Go – Learn about owls who call the area around the Pond House “home” | 4:30-5:30pm
• February: Skulls, Furs & Tracks  Discover hidden wildlife around the Pond House | 1:30-3pm
• February: Nature Craft – Snow Art  Make colorful snow art by build structures from colored ice blocks | Brookside Park | 1:30-3pm
• March: Nature Craft – Seed Bomb  A naturalist will guide participants through the steps to make and history of seed bombs | Pond House, 1-3pm
