Proof Public is a collaborative group of artists working to preserve and promote the craft of letterpress printing by increasing access to printmaking and publishing tools. They also create programs and educational opportunities “rooted in the social role of printers to increase access to information, advance design innovation, and support the community.” It is a relief printing technique that uses a printing press t omake repeated direct impressions of an inked, raised surface on paper. The studio offers regular open house printing nights. No experience is necessary to attend. Come with a phrase or message in mind to share or just explore letterpress printing. These nights are free and open to the public. The studio will have paper, ink, and wood type to create your own posters with your own messages.
