Saint Cloud Technical and Community College and Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence in Rosemount, each host a NITRO-X Summer Camp annually. This camp focuses on exploring radio controlled cars and trucks and is for middle school kids in 6th through 8th grade.
What is Nitro-X Summer Camp?
Held in mid-June, this week long day camp teaches participants about electronics, engines, suspension, paint, and team work. They also offer the chance for some friendly competition. By the end of the camp, students will have learned skills to build, paint, test, and drive their 4x4 remote control vehicles. Camps are led by college or high school instructors and mentored by industry professionals.
Where is Nitro-X Held?
Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence in Rosemount hosts a Twin Cities camp.
The St. Cloud camp is held an hour and a half north of the Twin Cities on I-94 at the St. Cloud Technical and Community College, 1640 Northway Drive, St. Cloud, MN 56303. That's kind of a long way for a daily drive, but maybe a good excuse to take a family camping trip.
