Local Birthday Freebies for Twin Cities Kids
Broadway Pizza • Multiple Locations • Any one who knows me, knows I LOVE the Broadway Pizza Kids Birthday Club. Apparently details and availability can vary by location, but our kids have each received a free personal pizza, pop, dessert and age-appropriate gift on their birthday. This is for kids 10 and under and my teen was really sad when she got too old to participate.
Cheap Skate • Coon Rapids • Sign up for the Birthday Club and get special Birthday Deals plus Weekly Skate Free Coupons ALL YEAR ROUND! I currently get a weekly coupon to use with up to three kids to skate or bounce free every Tuesday and Thursday. The downside, of course, is that the only location is Coon Rapids. If you live close enough to take advantage, this is an awesome deal.
Crayola Experience • Mall of America • Get in FREE within 7 days of your birthday. Offer valid in-person only with proof of birth date, such as a driver’s license or birth certificate. If you visit on the Tuesday closest to your birthday, you can combine this with the next deal!
LaCasita Restaurants • Multiple Locations • The birthday person gets a free entrée with purchase of another food item of equal or greater value. However, you must go in on the person’s actual birthday and I.D. is required. While a person of any age can get a Minnesota ID, unless you have another reason to get your child an ID card, it’s cheaper to buy them a meal.
Minnesota Children’s Museum • Saint Paul • Join the Saint Paul Birthday Club and kids get free entry on their Birthday Month. With my two youngest sharing a birthday month, I can take them both for the price of my own admission.
Red Balloon Bookshop • Saint Paul • Join the Red Balloon Birthday Club and receive a coupon for 3 Balloon Bucks to use in your birthday month! Kids and adults can sign up.
National Birthday Freebies Found in the Twin Cities Kids

Baskin Robbins • Saint Paul & Eagan • Sign up for the Baskin-Robbins Birthday Club, then add the rest of your family. You’ll all get free scoops on your birthday.
Benihana • Golden Valley • Kids 12 and under can join the Kabuki Kids program. They’ll receive a special postcard for their birthday that entitles them to the free souvenir mug of their choice with the purchase of any Kabuki Kids meal.
Chuck E. Cheese • 6 Metro Locations • Sign up for the More Cheese Rewards and your child will receive rewards for both their birthday and half-birthday.
The Old Spaghetti Factory • Minneapolis • The Kids Birthday Club perks include a free meal on their birthday and a half-birthday treat.
Red Robin • Bloomington, Plymouth, Shoreview • Among the Red Robin Royalty rewards is a free Birthday Burger. Sign up with an email address online.
Rita’s Italian Ice • Eagan & Apple Valley • Year round deals and exclusive birthday discounts. Sign up with an email address online. Parents need to sign up and then add their children during Step 2.
Not Exactly Free, but Cool!
While a Viking Kids Club Membership is not free, the $20 membership fee includes lots of goodies, including an e-birthday card on your child’s birthday. Not a Viking’s Fan? The Packers also have a Junior Power Pack membership. It costs $25 and also includes a birthday card as part of the perks.
Want more? Lisa at Twin Cities Frugal Mom has 100 Birthday Freebies. A lot of these will be for you more than your kids, but you could always use one of your kids’ birthday instead of your own when signing up?
