Birthday Freebies and Deals for Minnesota Kids

It may seem like many of the best Birthday Freebie deals are for ages 13 and up. If you look around, there are some good deals for kids, too. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite Birthday Freebies that kids can get right here in the Twin Cities.

If you’re in search of a memorable birthday party venue, our Twin Cities Birthday Parties for Kids guide has over 100 ideas!

Just a reminder, we are linking to our sources, but birthday deals can come and go, so we recommend checking the link and calling ahead when in doubt

Local Birthday Freebies for Twin Cities Kids

Broadway Pizza

• Multiple Locations •
Any one who knows me, knows I LOVE the Broadway Pizza Kids Birthday Club. Apparently details and availability can vary by location, but our kids have each received a free personal pizza, pop, dessert and age-appropriate gift on their birthday. This is for kids 10 and under and my teen was really sad when she got too old to participate.

Cheap Skate

• Coon Rapids •
Sign up for the Birthday Club and get special Birthday Deals plus Weekly Skate Free Coupons ALL YEAR ROUND! I currently get a weekly coupon to use with up to three kids to skate or bounce free every Tuesday and Thursday. The downside, of course, is that the only location is Coon Rapids. If you live close enough to take advantage, this is an awesome deal.

LaCasita Restaurants

• Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Roseville •
The birthday person gets a free entrée with purchase of another food item of equal or greater value. However, you must go in on the person’s actual birthday and I.D. is required. While a person of any age can get a Minnesota ID, unless you have another reason to get your child an ID card, it’s cheaper to buy them a meal. You could try a birth certificate like at the Crayola Experience.

Minnesota Children’s Museum

• Saint Paul •
Join the Saint Paul Birthday Club and kids get free entry on their Birthday Month. With my two youngest sharing a birthday month, I can take them both for the price of my own admission.

Red Balloon Bookshop

• Saint Paul •
Join the Red Balloon Birthday Club and receive a coupon for 3 Balloon Bucks to use in your birthday month! Kids and adults can sign up.

While a Viking Kids Club Membership is not free, the $20 membership fee includes lots of goodies, including an e-birthday card on your child’s birthday. Not a Viking’s Fan? The Packers also have a Junior Power Pack membership. It costs $25 and also includes a birthday card as part of the perks.
