The Shakopee Community Center has family-friendly amenities that include a fitness center, gym, track and a skate park. It is connected to the Shakopee Ice Arena. In 2017, the Community Center was renovated with improvements that included a new indoor aquatics center, an indoor playground, two new sheets of ice in the arena, as well as interior and exterior updates. Members of the Community Center can also use the pool at Shakopee East Junior High for free (while others can use it for a small fee).
Shakopee Indoor Aquatic Center
Shakopee’s 22,300 sq ft indoor pool complex includes a zero-depth entry pool with a play structure and waterslide, a 4-lane lap pool, whirlpool and sauna. Tot time swims and special events are often held at the aquatic center; we try to track these on our Family Fun Calendar.
Admission to Shakopee Community Center
Daily admission ranges from $6-$13 depending on age and residency. Use of the skate park and walking track is FREE to all. Tot Times and The Lookout Indoor Playground range from $4-$6 per child. Memberships are available for both residents and non-residents and include daily admission.
Family fitness at Shakopee Community Center
Use of the fitness center is included with daily admission or membership. Children as young as 12 can use the fitness center with their parents if they have gone through orientation. For all ages family fitness, the community center provides a gym. It is open seven days a week with the majority of time scheduled as Family and Individual Open Gym. Children under 16 are allowed to use the walking track when with a parent. Strollers are permitted on the inside lane of the track from 10 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. daily.
The Lookout Indoor Playground
The Lookout Indoor Playground has climbing and sliding structures, a sensory wall, a separate area for tots. Open daily during Community Center hours. Admission is $4-$6 per child.
Skate Park at Shakopee Community Center
The Skate Park was updated in Fall of 2016. It has a lot of features I’m told are “killer”. Use of the skate park is free and does not require community center admission. The Skate Park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Birthday parties at Shakopee Community Center
Birthday party packages are available for up to 12 kids – including a Splash Party and Lookout Playground Party. The package include use of the party room, applicable facilities and place settings. You bring your own cake. Learn more about birthday parties here.
