Miller Park in Eden Prairie offers family-friendly amenities that include an accessible playground, a splash pad, biking and hiking trails, space to picnic and sports fields and courts. It also has a fishing pier and a boat ramp. In the winter, the city maintains rinks. Miller Park’s barrier-free playground was built with pathways and structures intended to gives non-mobile children the opportunity to reach all levels of the play structure, so they can play with their friends.
Miller Park Splash Pad
The splash pad at this park is in the playground area and free to use between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. The splash pad is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (and sometimes longer when weather permits). It is activated by pressing bare skin (hands or feet) to the button in the large blue circle in its center. When you think about it, that’s pretty ingenious. Someone can’t accidentally set it off when they walk over it fully-clothed. Miller Park Splash pad is a simple, yet effective way to cool off when the kids need a break from the playground. And no cries for the beach are necessary because the large sand play area provides all they need to scoop, splash and dig.
Ice skating at Miller Park
Weather permitting, Eden Prairie maintains an outdoor rink at this location, but bring your own skates. There is a staffed warming house and the rink is lit on weekdays between 4pm and 8pm and on weekends from 1pm to 5pm. Find more Twin Cities outdoor rinks here.
