Island Lake County Park in Shoreview is managed by Ramsey County Parks. It has family-friendly amenities that include a playground, paved walking path, space to run and picnic and a fishing pier. There is space to parking over 250 cars. It is usually a quiet park but hosts the annual Slice of Shoreview Festival.

  1. Have a family barbecue! Anne tells us its a great place to picnic as the spring begins to warm up the park.
  2. View the Telefarm Towers from the shore.
  3. Take a family walk. A paved trail loops around the park.
  4. Play on the playground. It can be seen from Shelter 1 if you are planning a picnic & play date.
  5. Bring the baseball gear or a playground ball to play on the baseball diamond.
  6. Volley your playground ball on the sand courts
  7. Go Fishing – The Minnesota DNR tells us there are Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Channel Catfish and Walleye in Island Lake.
  8. Watch Fireworks & enjoy carnival rides at the Slice of Shoreview Festival in July.
