The Creekview Park and Recreation Center lie on the east bank of Shingle Creek, providing a natural environment for walking and biking paths. Family-friendly amenities include a playground and tot lot, a skate park and regularly scheduled tot times. This park is one of the free city WiFi areas. Creekview has one of the six existing skate parks in Minneapolis parks. This relatively underused skate park is due for some major re-hauls, but it sounds like it would make a good beginner park as is. Minneapolis Parks has made a goal to make the city more skater-friendly and is beginning to implement a 20-year plan for improving the overall skate park experience through design, operations, partnerships and safety measures. The recreation center has board games, active games, foosball and ping-pong, as well as an open computer lab. Creekview has participated in the summer meals program offering free weekday lunch to children under 18 years old from.
