St. Catherine University in the Highland Park neighborhood of St. Paul is affectionately known as “St. Kate’s and has several family friendly things for families to do and/or visit.

The O’Shaughnessy
St. Catherine University is home to The O’Shaughnessy, a performance venue that hosts several family-friendly community events each year, including Holiday performances, touring acts and more.
Catherine G. Murphy Gallery
The campus gallery focuses on women-centered visual arts. It is home to both a permanent collection and rotating exhibitions by students. The Gallery is free and open to the public. Hours are subject to change with the academic year and holidays.
A pretty English Garden sits just outside the gallery and is nice to explore in the summer months. Look for a sculpture of St. Francis of Assisi.
Dew Drop Pond
Dew Drop Pond is a nice place to spread a picnic blanket and watch ducks. There is a cute bridge crossing to small island. See if you can find the bronze sculpture, “Our Family Tree” that sits along the path circling the pond and a pollinator garden near the parking lot.
