Puttshack Minneapolis is a mini golf bar in the North Loop neighborhood. While the venue is geared toward young adults in the evenings, it makes a great family outing – especially during the day. Families could stop in for mini golf and pizza on a Sunday afternoon and still watch their favorite game on the big screen TVs. One feature that makes Puttshack mini golf particularly family-friendly is the golf balls that automatically keep score — even the youngest kids can play along and know their scores are accurate. Bigger kids will have fun with the interactive challenges at different holes (i.e., trivia, connect 4, foosball, roulette) that offer a chance to earn bonus points.
Birthday parties at Puttshack
We had an opportunity to host a birthday party at Puttshack and it was a ton of fun for everyone. It was also really simple, we just showed up and Puttshack’s friendly and fun team did everything else. These parties are great for mixed-age parties and would be as fun for teens and younger kids.
Details
Party packages start at $25 per guest and include everything for your child’s party, including.
- A round of mini golf
- Reserved seating for your group
- Pizza, fresh fruit skewers, tater tots, and fountain drinks
- Dedicated Event Ambassador to help with planning
- A special surprise for the birthday kid and free game vouchers for all
guests
The upgraded Par-Tee Plus package (which we had for our party) adds in:
- Chicken fingers along with the food above.
- Ice cream sundaes
- Extra surprises for the birthday kid
- Party favors for all guests
Tips for parents
- Consider adding on an additional round of mini golf. The game goes fast and the kids have a blast playing. There are multiple 9-hole courses to choose among, so they won’t need to replay the same game.
- The North Loop Puttshack is one of the few in the nation that does NOT have free parking available. If that is a big deal to you, the Edina Puttshack is located in Southdale and offers plenty of parking. However, street parking is reasonable and it isn’t too hard to find on a weekend morning.
- Both packages offer ala carte add-ons. So you can customize a party to your needs and budget.
- If you have a lot of hungry teens, definitely upgrade to the Par-Tee Plus Package, but the basic package offers plenty of food for everyone. However, you may want to add on the ice cream sundaes to your basic package. They were delicious.
- The party food is for the party guests. Parents who stick around are welcome to order their own food. We really loved the Poutine.
- You can bring your own cake, but it needs to be store bought with an ingredients list.
- I would recommend staying away from the photo booth or at least not handing your kid your credit card to use it. (Not one of my brightest moves).
- An adult needs to supervise kids on the golf course.
- Parties are offered throughout the day/night, but earlier times will be less busy and more relaxed.
*Puttshack provided FFTC with a free birthday party package in exchange for this review.Â
