Website Oak Hill Park

Oak Hill Park is on the west side of St. Louis Park and abuts Louisiana Oaks Park.  It has family friendly amenities that include a playground, a splash pad, and sports fields. In the winter, families can ice skate and sled. There is also room to to picnic with both tables and shelters. Oak Hill is one of the parks in St. Louis Park that offers free Wi-Fi in its picnic and park shelters.

Oak Hill splash pad & playground

The playground is compact with a cute tree-house theme. The floor is woodchip and their are park benches for parents who want to rest while the kids play.

The park’s water playground allows children to activate bubbling hoses, water nozzles and sprinkler arches using motion sensors. Parental supervision and rubber soled water shoes are strongly recommended safety precautions. Weather permitting, the splash pad is available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily Memorial Day – Labor Day.
Note: Unlike most metro splash pads, this pad is staffed and requires an admission fee of $1.00 for non-residents. Residents are free (I assume you should plan to bring ID showing your address). A staff person is onsite early June – mid-Aug, weekdays from 10am-4pm.
Also unique to this splash pad is the ability to reserve the pad for groups during specified times (inexpensive birthday party?). Group admission is $2.00/pp. Call the park to check availability. The splash pad is limited to 30 people including staff and chaperones.

Winter activities at Oak Hill Park

Oak Hill Park sledding area

The city-designated sledding area is a favorite with locals. The hill is lit after dark (usually 4:30 to 8:45 pm) and is convenient to the parking lot. Park in the lot along Rhode Island Avenue.

Oak Hill Park ice skating

The city also maintains a lighted skating rink at this park. The warming house at this location sells hot cocoa for $2 a cup during open hours. For more places to skate during the winter months:
