Housed in Plymouth Congregational Church, VocalEssence is a nonprofit choral music organization based in Minneapolis. Formed in 1969, it is globally recognized but maintains a local focus. As part of the regular season, there are several family concerts and community sings. Most, but not all, ticketing is done through the Minnesota Orchestra Box Office. Concerts are held at the various venues throughout the season. For more information on tickets and venue for specific events, follow the links. Keep in mind that Orchestra Hall has a minimum age requirement for most concerts. Most years, VocalEssence offers a Family-Friendly Holiday concert, such as Star of Wonder. Tis the season for holiday bells, baby bottles, and happy smiles, as VocalEssence entertains with a Christmas concert for the whole family included 45 minutes of delightful carols and dancing with the VocalEssence Choir. No manners needed! The best part of the show is that its spirit depends on plenty of help from the audience! The more excited the kids are, the better the show becomes. “Choral music is a Christmas tradition, and it’s truly heartwarming to see the amazement on so many small faces as they watch a choir sing as one. We look forward to it all year.” –Philip Brunelle, founder and artistic director of VocalEssence This choral experience has been held at various venues, including a popular 2018 concert at the MIA, where families could add a relaxing walk through the museum afterwards or just chill with a coffee while the kids played with blocks. Individual tickets for Christmas concerts are traditionally $15 for adults, FREE for children ages 0-17. VocalEssence 2021-2022 Season of Family Performances
