I meant to delay posting this until I'd had a chance to get to all the events offered weekly at the charming Teeny Bee Boutique. But my preschooler and I had such a nice time at the Tuesday music class that I want to quick share it with you while it's fresh in my mind. Plus, I'll tell you what you can enjoy the other six days of the week. Call to inquire regarding current offerings.
Teeny Bee sometimes offers family fun activities, including:
- Music - These 45-minute caregiver-and-child classes are relaxed, informal, and filled with familiar songs, fingerplays, and simply having fun making sounds kids can't resist (my 3-year-old, for instance loved echoing silly noises back at the teacher, not realizing of course, that she was learning about pitch and volume). There is also whole-body movement in the class, parachute play, and freestylin' on wee instruments. No reservations are necessary, just show up ready to make music.
- Playdates - Held downstairs in Teeny Bee's "Bloom Room", this special block of time is limited to little ones ages 0-3. I have not personally attended, but my preschooler and I did make sure to evaluate the playthings so we could let you know what there is to enjoy: ride-on toys, mini tramps, a basket of balls and a magnetic wall are a few of the offerings. And, the boutique owner hinted, there is COFFEE for the adults during playdates!
- Yoga - CURRENTLY ON HIATUS - Really want to get to this! I'd love to see my feisty little one attempt to meditate. The instructor also uses games and storytelling to help teach yoga poses and motor coordination to kids ages 0-5 with their caregivers. Again, the class is free and no pre-registration is required.
- Seven days a week - Feel free to come play in the Bloom Room during store hours when events are not scheduled, and shop the sweet styles in stock for infants through size 5. Teeny Bee also carries several quality lines of toys, bath accessories, and books.
