Family Fun Directory of Things To Do with Kids:
Plymouth Creek Center is the home of Hilde Performance Center, Plymouth Fieldhouse, and Millennium Garden. This grouping of recreational venues gives residents and visitors to Plymouth a space for special events and recreational activities.
Note that Plymouth Creek Center is about half a mile (and on the opposite side of Plymouth Creek) from Plymouth Creek Park.
Hilde Performance Center
The Hilde Performance Center is Plymouth's outdoor venue for concert series and performing arts. Set among wetlands, the stage can be found right behind Plymouth City Hall. There are also trails available for family exploration.
Parking is available on-street parking is available in the City Center area and in the City Hall parking lot.
Families may enjoy the free Music in Plymouth concert each summer.
Millennium Garden at Plymouth Creek Center
The Millennium Garden was created to be both beautiful and tranquil with a variety of flower trails, walkways and fountains. One portion is a "labyrinth" created from grass and flat stones. Weather permitting, Millennium Garden has a non-staffed ice rink open during the month of January. Find Plymouth staffed rinks with warming houses here.
The domed Plymouth Fieldhouse has a state-of-the-art artificial grass field and is inflated from November through early-April, providing an indoor space for sports, fitness and family play.
Open Play at Plymouth Fieldhouse
The fieldhouse is heated (to 55 degrees) and open for play during the following times.
- Toddler/Youth (Ages 12 & Under, targeted for 3 - 5 year olds): Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Play equipment, including inflatables, is provided. Supervising adults are free. Begins early November through mid-March. Find other Twin Cities tot times here.
Cost: $4/Plymouth Resident, $5/Non-Plymouth Resident.
Free Indoor Track at Plymouth Fieldhouse
The indoor track is open to the public during specified hours from November through March. Strollers are permitted on the track. Track times are subject to change and it is a good idea to call ahead (763-509-5292), if you have not visited before. Find up to date schedules here.
Birthday Parties at Plymouth Creek Center
The center has rooms available for rent starting at $30 per hour for residents ($50 for non residents) and going up depending on the space. Spaces require a minimum of a 2-hour commitment. You can find a PDF of Rental Rates Here. The Millennium Garden is also available for rental. However, it is geared more toward weddings and is priced accordingly.
