When we think of the Minnesota Transportation Museum, most of us think of the Jackson Street Roundhouse, but it also runs the Osceola & St Croix Valley Railway Train Excursions. These family-friendly train excursions provide passengers with an opportunity to ride the rails while enjoying Midwest seasons. In the summer take a special ride to watch fireworks; in the autumn ride the Fall Colors train or the Pumpkin Expression. There are pizza trains throughout the season.

Osceola & St Croix Railway

The historic train runs every weekend from early May through late October through the scenic St. Croix Valley. Passengers are encouraged to get up and move around the train to learn a little more about railway history as they ride. Beverages and snacks are available for purchase in the concession car. Most trips are about an hour and a half and family-friendly. Riders are encouraged to dress causally in weather appropriate clothes.

2019 Ticket Prices

Tickets for the Osceola & St. Croix Railway are $20 for adults; $17 for military and seniors over age 62; $12 for children ages 3 to 15 and FREE for kids 2 and under. The Minnesota Transportation Museum encourages passengers to pre-purchase their tickets. The Pumpkin Express is $20 for anyone over the age of 2; and Pizza Train is $25 for anyone over age and 2. These prices were correct as of 2019, but we encourage you to visit Minnesota Transportation Museum site for pricing.

Discounts and Coupons for the Osceola & St Croix Valley Railway

Watch Groupon for group discounts. Upper level memberships include 2 or 4 ride passes as part of the membership benefits. This would be a good deal if you also plan to take advantage of the free visits to the Jackson Street Roundhouse.
