Norway House Lending Library
The lending library offers books featuring Nordic, Nordic-American, and Minnesotan authors. Books with Nordic folktales are included in this collection.
Since 2015, Norway House has offered the annual Gingerbread Wonderland exhibit to share Norway’s longstanding heritage of holiday gingerbread houses. It is inspired by the City of Bergen, Norway’s famous annual Gingerbread City exhibit and hopes to convey the magic of a a gingerbread village that transcends generations, cultures and architect styles. Gingerbread Wonderland runs through the holiday season. This year, the exhibit will go forward, visit virtually or make an appointment for a tour, November 6 through January 2, 2020, Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Family memberships are $70. Family is defined as "two adult members plus two children under 18 living in the same household". If your personal definition of family includes a few more children, you'll need to pay their admission separately or purchase an "Under 30 Membership" for them for $25. Membership includes gallery admission, discounts and exclusive events.
Norway House Expansion
Thanks to the popularity of Gingerbread Wonderland, the Norway House is expanding in 2020. In January an old duplex was demolished and they buried some gingerbread crumbs into the new foundation of their expansion and are excited to move forward into the next phase. The expanded campus will stretch around the corner. Learn more in the video below.
