Minnesota Youth Symphonies (MYS) is a youth orchestra education program that offers conservatory-level orchestral training for students fromĀ  Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Rehearsals are held weekly on Saturdays at Highland Junior High School in St. Paul. MYS Students have three major concerts annually and community concerts at various metropolitan locations throughout the year.

Music & Melody Makers Program

Music and Melody Makers is FREE firsthand introduction to orchestra instruments for kids aged 3 to 14. Twice each year, preschool and elementary students can participate in a hands-on experience with MYS students demonstrating and helping children to try out the various instrument. Instruments include strings, percussion, and winds. There is also an opportunity to watch an orchestra rehearsal. All participants receive an activity book. Read about Anne’s experience here.

Minnesota Youth Symphonies – Childrenā€™s Concert Club

Children who participate in the Music & Melody Makers program and other youth groups can attendĀ MYSĀ concerts at a $3 per person rate through the Childrenā€™s Concert Club.


Minnesota Youth Symphonies – String Studio

This programs provides violin and viola lesson to students at Folwell Performing Arts Magnet School in Minneapolis. These students then have an opportunity to perform at an MYS concert.
