McRae Park’s Natural Turf Field

The natural turf field has been recently updated to include better drainage and a working drinking fountain. The old field had drainage issues that would result in water pooling in the center of the football field. The field consists of a football and soccer field, three ball fields, two broomball areas and a skating rink. There are also nearby basketball and tennis courts that were not part of the update.

Year-Round Skating at McRae Park

In 1998, MPRB installed a permanent hard-surface skating rink that can be used for year-round skating. In winter it is maintained as an ice rink and in summer it is available for roller skating.

During the summer of 2021, MPRB is in the early stages of planning a new playground. The new playground will replace the current equipment. The current equipment was installed in 1969 and 1996. The pool may also be updated at a later date.
