In Minnesota, family fun outdoors means embracing all four seasons. If you are on this page because you are looking for a new Twin Cities-area park, playground or nature center to explore, hundreds of entries can be found through our Parks & Playgrounds Search feature. Or, continue searching hundreds more ideas of things to do with kids in the Twin Cities through our Family Directory, including family outings, services, classes, camps, birthday parties and more.
Family Fun Directory of Things To Do with Kids:
Maplewood Mall is open seven days a week and has a large play area for children next to a full-size Merry Go Round that even adults can ride. This mall is the home of Twin Cities Party Princess. It also has an Amusing Rides kiosk, like the one at Rosedale Center pictured below.
Maplewood KidX Club
The KidX club offers both paid and free activities for kids throughout the year, including special holiday events like egg hunts, trick-or-treating and a stocking stroll. Many of the activities require membership to the club and many require pre-registration. Pre-register for events on Eventbrite.
Maplewood Mall Play Area
Nicki from MinneMama Adventures rates this mall's play area as her top pick. You can read why here. Keep an eye open for the soon-to-be-built Madison's Place Inclusive Playground. Maplewood Mall and the Madison Claire Foundation are partnering to create an indoor inclusive play area (like the outdoor one in Woodbury). The are currently in the fundraising stage.
