Minnetonka’s Charles H. Burwell House is among the historic houses in the Twin Cities with free tours in the summer. The city offers tours on Tuesdays and weekends in the summer and weekends in September. Tour hours are from 1pm to 4pm. The house is air conditioned and tour guides do not wear costumes.

Annual Events at the Burwell House

Besides the summer tours, the Burwell House hosts two annual events:

  • Burwell Festival: In 2019, this event will be held in the fall instead of the summer. According to the Minnetonka Historical Society, it will be a Halloween event, including entertainment, food and tours. More information to be announced.
  • Holiday Open House: Held in December, this weekend event, features the house decorated for a Victorian Christmas.
