The Eden Prairie Outdoor Center in Staring Lake Park is a refurbished cabin where the City of Eden Prairie offers classes, workshops, and activities focused on outdoor recreation and environmental education including weekly and seasonal activities. One of Eden Prairie’s historical sites, this log cabin was originally a State Emergency Relief Administration (SERA) camp for the Minnesota River Valley during the Great Depression. It was moved to its current location in 1947. In 2017, the city installed nature-themed play equipment near Animal Junction. The picture below is of the proposed play area from the plan submittal, but the finalized playground looks similar. Every Saturday drop in to the Outdoor Center for the Nature Rocks!
