The Eden Prairie Outdoor Center in Staring Lake Park is a refurbished cabin where the City of Eden Prairie offers classes, workshops, and activities focused on outdoor recreation and environmental education. One of Eden Prairie's historical sites, this log cabin was originally a State Emergency Relief Administration (SERA) camp for the Minnesota River Valley during the Great Depression. It was moved to its current location in 1947.

The city recently installed nature-themed play equipment near Animal Junction. The picture below is of the proposed play area from the plan submittal, but the finalized playground looks similar.
Nature Rocks at the Eden Prairie Outdoor Center
Every Saturday drop in to Eden Prairie Outdoor Center for free family-friendly nature activities. Offerings include hiking, hands-on interaction with live animals, and craft projects.

Public Art at Eden Prairie Outdoor Center
Beginning in the spring of 2018, the Outdoor Center will be one of three locations to participate in a rotating sculpture program. The project is designed to both add richness to the environment at these locations and to help foster the community's appreciation of public art.
Birthday Parties at the Eden Prairie Outdoor Center
The outdoor center hosts naturalist-led birthday parties on weekend afternoons. Each party includes 90 minutes of structured activities like hikes, seasonal activities and animal introductions. This time is followed by 30 minutes for cake and presents. $159 includes a maximum of 15 children and 3 adults. Find more information here.
