Bush Lake Beach and East Bush Lake Park are on the east side of Bush Lake in Bloomington. They are located slightly more than a mile away from and across the lake from West Bush Lake Park. The park is part of the greater Hyland-Bush-Anderson Lakes Park Reserve.

This popular beach has traditionally been guarded during open hours (11am to 7pm daily during the season), however it has been unguarded for the last several years. Along with that change, came free parking. Beach amenities include a volleyball court and concessions stand. Besides enjoying swimming, families can canoe, picnic and explore the trails.

Annual Bush Lake Sandcastles Competition

Each June, Bloomington hosts a sandcastle building contest at this beach. The day also feature games and other fun activities for beach goers. If interested, you may want to RSVP on city’s Facebook events page.

Bush Lake Beach Closures

It’s a good idea with this beach (as with most natural beaches) to call or check the website before heading out. The city will close the beach if the e-coli levels get dangerously high.

Camp Kota Summer Camp

Designed to help kids entering grades K-7 learn outdoor skills in a fun, social setting. Campers will have an opportunity to swim, sing, make arts and crafts and try various outdoor activities.
