Banning State Park in Sandstone, Minnesota, is approximately an hour and a half drive from the Twin Cities. We like it for a chance to stretch our legs on the way to Duluth. There is a beautiful waterfall to see and a nice hiking trail for families. Families with older kids may want to try canoeing or kayaking on the Kettle River.Related Articles:
