One of the longest running indoor skate parks in the nation, Owner, Mark Rodriquez opened 3rd Lair SkatePark in 1997 on Lake Street in Minneapolis. It moved to its present location in Golden Valley approximately 5 years later. The park offers skate sessions, training, and events for skateboarders and other wheeled devices – like bikes and roller skates. They also maintain a skate shop onsite and online, where shoppers can find third lair skateboards, protective equipment, gear, footwear and apparel. The park requires a signed waiver for all participants, but parents can fill it out online at the link. The skate park hours vary with school schedules. The park is open to skateboards, roller skates and bikes, but not all of them all of the time. Check the schedule for for special days, such as: Saturday mornings have traditionally been reserved for beginners and those who like to go slow and stay low. Complimentary instruction is offered during this time as well. The skate park is available for birthday parties either through packages or rent the park during off hours. Rental rates are hourly plus a per person rate. Party packages include skate time and other addons, depending on package. Check out 3rd Lair at the State Fair. In 2019 they were in Adventure Park.
