From kid-friendly activities to non-alcoholic options, these family-friendly taprooms and breweries in the Twin Cities welcome kids (and often dogs) so you can enjoy quality family time in a relaxed environment.
Family-friendly breweries and tap rooms can be great places to visit for a laid-back outing with the whole family. Many offer outdoor space with picnic tables and a play area or plenty of space for running around. Some provide lawn games, like giant Jenga and cornhole.
Indoors, many tap rooms provide board games, arcade games and/or game tables. They may also stock toys, books and coloring pages for the tots.
If the tap room doesn’t provide food, they can legally allow the family dog to join the people both inside and out (for health reasons, restaurants cannot allow dogs indoors, but may provide pet-friendly patios). Many tap rooms without food will also allow carry ins and/or host a food truck on the property.
Other breweries are also restaurants with a full menu, including kids’ menu. Pizza, burgers and other kid-friendly, comfort foods are the norm at these locations. Besides craft beers, IPAs and ale, some offer craft sodas, fresh-brewed root beer and ice cream floats.

3rd Act Brewery is a family-friendly brewery and restaurant in Woodbury. Besides a selection of beverages, 3rd Act makes made-to-order brick oven pizzas and pretzels as well as air fried wings, brats, hot dogs, and snack foods.
Arbeiter Brewing Company
Located in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, Arbeiter Brewing Company is a tap room and craft brewery with regular events, food trucks and activities like trivia nights. Both children and dogs are allowed at this tap room and in the outdoor seating area.
Broken Clock Brewing
Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative is a family-friendly tap room in the Bottineau neighborhood of Minneapolis. This member-owned tap room offers regular events, including live music, yoga, trivia, bingo and more.
Forgotten Star Brewing
Forgotten Star Brewery in Fridley offers events, leagues, food trucks and family-friendly activities and story times. It is also dog-friendly.
Lake Monster Brewing Company
Lake Monster Brewing has been the long-time location of Do-Good Diapers’ Babies and Brews Events. It has also hosted local author events, Open Eye Theater’s sidewalk puppet shows, Young Dance family events and Santa Claus. Children are welcome to visit any time with their parents. Families can carry in food or order pizza from nearby OG Zaza to be delivered to their table at Lake Monster.
LTD Brewing
LTD Brewing in Hopkins is a very family friendly brewery with house made root beer, root beer floats, and games available at all time for kids in the taproom. Families can drop in for board game nights. The brewery hosts an annual block party that encourages families to come out and enjoy the summer.
Luce Line Brewing
