How to Enjoy the X Games with Your Kids

  • FREE X Fest Kick off (no ticket needed)
As part of the official opening of the games, X Fest will be held the evening of Thursday, August 1. It is free and open to the public and includes a whole line-up of family fun. Be on the lookout for X Fest times.

  • Make X Games Minneapolis personal with access to the  interactive BMX and skate parks and with opportunities to meet athletes at the autograph sessions.
Part of the fun of the X Games is meeting some of your favorite athletes. While I believe the athletes will be excited to meet their fans and sign autographs, your kids may get hot and cranky waiting in line.  Make sure you’ve prepped your bag with snacks and lots of water. Not only that, but the X Games will have interactive parks for fans to try their favorite sports–BMX and skateboarding–at Medtronic Plaza.

  • Plan your X Games experience before you get out to the event.
My husband and I were chatting about our day at the X Games and how we want to approach it. We decided that the best thing to do would be to check out the schedule and prioritize our favorite events. The earliest an event begins is at noon. Over the weekend, X Fest opens at 10 am, so we plan to go early and enjoy the festival atmosphere outside of US Bank Stadium.
