The X Games Minneapolis are in town August 1-4 with thrilling extreme sports. Are we still calling them extreme sports? It may show my age by calling them extreme, but that is the history behind the name X Games. The X Games have always proudly been an exciting, family-fun event.

How to Enjoy the X Games with Your Kids
If you don’t know where to begin in determining if this is an event for your family, here are five things for Kids at the X Games this year that you won’t want to miss.
- FREE X Fest Kick off (no ticket needed)
As part of the official opening of the games, X Fest will be held the evening of Thursday, August 1. It is free and open to the public and includes a whole line-up of family fun. Be on the lookout for X Fest times.

After Thursday’s XGames Kick off, XFest is included only with your ticket into the official games.

My husband and I were chatting about our day at the X Games and how we want to approach it. We decided that the best thing to do would be to check out the schedule and prioritize our favorite events. The earliest an event begins is at noon. I’m so sorry you missed out. The X-Games came to the Twin Cities in 2019 and, at this time, are not scheduled to come back. But try some of these Twin Cities Area Festivals in 2024!
