Harrison Park is an important part of the Harrison neighborhood community, sitting adjacent to the Harrison Education Center and Harrison Neighborhood Association.

Harrison Park traditionally participates in the summer meals program, offering children under 18 years old a free weekday snacks and a free meals. Check the official website in June for Summer Meal Times, if available.

Harrison Wading Pool

Harrison shares space with Harrison Education Center; therefore, its wading pool will open after the close of school and remain until just prior to school resuming. The pool is free to use between the hours 10 am to 9 pm daily. There are no lifeguards on duty. This is a newer pool with a zero-depth entry and a splash-pad-like spray feature.

Harrison Recreation Center

This recreation center offers a variety of camps, activities, events and field trips that can be found in the seasonal activity guides. The activity room has air hockey, foosball, ping pong and billiards. Board games and active games are available to borrow. There is an open computer lab.

Spark’d Studios at the Rec Center

A new Spark’d Studio was added to the Harrison Recreation Center in 2023 to facilitate kids in building creative skills and technology career readiness.

The studio provides FREE multimedia arts programs, FREE access to top of the line technology, and FREE mentorship from creative professionals.  Equipment includes:

  • Mac desktops stations and MacBook laptops
  • Professional sound recording booth and audio engineering station
  • Keyboards, guitars, and a drum kit
  • Photo/video cameras, lighting kits, backdrops, and tripods
  • Gaming stations and Nintendo Switches
  • Illustration tablet
  • 3D printer and color printer and scanner
  • Design and editing software
  • Crafting materials and supplies
  • Smart Board, mobile whiteboards and a library of technology, arts, and engineering books

Birthday Parties at Harrison Park

MPRB rents space in its rec centers and parks for birthday parties and other private events and encourages families to make use of the park for these activities.
