Oakdale Nature Preserve is the home of the award-winning Oakdale Discovery Center, a unique place to learn about nature. In the discovery center, you’ll find rotating art exhibits, a large aquarium, a hands-on wildlife exhibit room, and books – that you can read on the patio or next to the fire. Outside you’ll find a playground area, a forest garden, picnic shelters, 220 acres of recreation space and hiking trails. There is also a historic one-room schoolhouse nearby.
Families will enjoy monthly story times and special events, such as Oakdale’s indoor farmer’s market and an annual easter egg hunt.
Birthday parties at Oakdale Nature Preserve
The Community Room of the discovery center is available to rent. Prices range from around $30 to $75/hour with a 3-hour minimum. Food must be catered or be commercial (you can bring in restaurant subs or pizza). No home-prepared food is allowed. If you will have more than 75 guests, you must choose from three approved caters.
