TPT is the Twin Cities Public Television station. Besides family programming, they bring family events to the Twin Cities throughout the year. Watch for live versions of your favorite kids’ shows and fun public gatherings. One of our favorites is Family Fun Day at Como Park. Each year, families can purchase discounted ride tickets for Como Town through TPT or just come to Como Zoo for free activities.

Family Fun Idea: If you visit the station, you may want to set aside time to visit the Depot Tot Lot, a train themed park that shares a block with the TV station.

TPT Second Saturdays

TPT offers a free monthly play date at the street space in Saint Paul. These popular events fill up fast and require pre-registration. Each month TPT partners with a charity; families are encouraged to bring a donation. Because these events are so popular, there are participants choose a specific time slot when they register and registrations are limited to six people. Learn more about Second Saturdays here.

Sensory Friendly Second Saturdays

The station reserves an hour of its popular Second Saturday events for fans with sensory needs. The lights, volume and crowds will be lowered and activities will be adaptable. Costumed characters will roam the room to meet everyone individually instead of requiring the children to line up. Learn more about Sensory Friendly Second Saturdays here. Find more sensory friendly programming on our Special Needs Shortlist.

TPT at the State Fair

Each year, TPT has a booth a the State Fair where families can meet some of their favorite characters (like WordGirl!). They also feature local bands and other entertainment.

Family Movie Night with PBS Kids!

This series of weekly family viewing events features PBS movie specials or themed programming every Friday, Saturday & Sunday at 6 & 8 pm.
