Northern Clay Center (“NCC)is a studio and exhibit space for the ceramic arts. Besides classes for both adults and children, it offers events throughout the year, birthday parties, and ongoing exhibits. Admission to the gallery to browse, shop or just enjoy the pottery is free. Northern Clay Center’s mission is the advancement of the ceramic arts. Ongoing programs include exhibitions by contemporary regional, national and international ceramic artists, as well as historical and architectural ceramics; classes and workshops for children and adults at all skill levels; studio space and grants for artists; and a sales gallery representing many top ceramic artists from the region and elsewhere. -NCC Website NCC hosts an annual holiday pottery exhibition and open house for the public. It is always free to bring your family to appreciate the gallery. The open house, held in mid-November, gives you a peek behind the scenes at pottery demonstrations and there are typically free hands-on activities with clay. Students do not have access to open studio time. However Teens (ages 13-17) may purchase punch cards allowing them to take eight, 2-hour Saturday classes during a six month period. Classes are held most Saturdays from 10am to noon and cover fundamental techniques, with demonstrations and projects for advanced students. Learn More Here.
