Free Summer Fitness Classes

Fitness in the Parks is Saint Paul’s FREE outdoor fitness program. Workout while the kids play nearby. Classes are added and changed throughout the year*. There is no registration required; just show up ready to work out. No experience is necessary.

Classes have included Breathing & Mindful Meditation, Body Strength, Capture the Flag, Cardio Circuit, Core Conditioning, Dancing Freedom, Fitness Yoga, Kickboxing, Running Class, Self Defense, Tabata Boot Camp, Tai Chi Chih, Total Body Fitness, Quigong, Vinyasa Yoga, Walk with a Trainer, and Zumba.

Fitness instructors come from several training centers around the Twin Cities. If you are in the market for an instructor, this is a free opportunity to try out several with kids in tow.

Fitness in the Parks With Kids

Classes are open to all fitness levels. All ages are usually welcome; if not, ages are listed. Look for classes at family-friendly parks so you can make a fun day out of the visit. For instance, you can bring swimsuits to a class at Phalen Beach or plan to explore Hidden Falls Regional Park after your workout.
